Phlebectomy – a minimally invasive surgical procedure without the use of a scalpel where varicose veins are removed through small skin punctures with special instruments. Punctures are sealed with special medical tape, not sutured, which gives better cosmetic effect.

This procedure is easily tolerated by patients since it does not require bed rest, usually painless with local anesthesia and has quick recovery and cosmetic effect. The extensive knowledge and experience is extremely important for the vein doctor who is performing that labor-intensive procedure.

The patient can quickly return to normal life activities after the procedure. However, patient should not participate in strenuous physical activity for a week or so.

For maximum effect, the patient should wear compression stockings after the procedure for a week.
